After being jilted by Cliff Lee and shunned by the Kansas City Royals in the pursuit of Zack Greinke, the Rangers still landed a Cy Young Award winner for their 2011 pitching staff.
The question is just how much Brandon Webb will be able to contribute.
According to numerous reports, Webb reached an agreement with the Rangers on a one-year deal worth $3 million in base salary and enough incentives that he could make up to $10 million in 2011. The deal is pending a physical and the Rangers' re-arrangement of the 40-man roster to create a spot for him.
Webb, who won the NL Cy Young in 2006, has not pitched since Opening Day 2008 because of serious arm injuries. He pitched only four innings in 2008.
