The St. Louis Cardinals are tied with Atlanta for the NL
wild-card lead, getting a clutch two-run triple from Ryan Theriot
in the seventh inning of a 13-6 victory over the Houston Astros on
Tuesday night.
Homer Bailey lived up to his name by beating his hometown team
for the fourth time.
HOUSTON ? With one game left in August, the
Pirates will no doubt be happy to
put the month behind them.
Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Houston Astros leaves them with an
8-21 record in August after losing only 24 games in June and July
combined. That's the same record the
Pirates produced last August; they
were 36-67 going into August 2010.
The
Pirates are 62-73 with 27 games
left.
